Ethan Simpson at the 2022 C420 North Americans

Thank you to the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for their support of youth sailing. North American’s was held in Port Erie, Canada. This was my first time sailing in Canada and I was able to see Niagara Falls, which was awesome. The conditions were all over the board between very light to extremely windy, which made it physically taxing and not easy! I hope to experience and return to Canada to sail and test my skills again one day. Thank you again to NHSF!

It was my first time sailing with my new crew, Dillon Garcia, so we were still trying to get in sync with each other. After 3 days of racing in intense heat, we finished 10th out of 78 teams, and although I was aiming for better, I know we have the potential to perform well as we still have big room for improvement.

Thank you so much for your support in allowing me to compete at the 2022 C420 North Americans in Canada. This was a super fun experience for me, not only due to it being in Canada, but especially because it was the last event sailing with my brother, Nathan, and after 4 days of racing, we finished 2nd out of 97 teams.
