Thank you to the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for your generous support of us and other Newport Beach sailors. This was our first-time experience at this prestigious C420 racing clinic.
After a year’s hiatus, Sail Newport hosted its’19th BEG clinic that had small group sessions and low sailors to coaches ratios. We participated in classroom briefings, video analysis, and a final day regatta. When asked what the best part of the clinic was, both of us agreed “the best part of the clinic was the interaction between the sailors and coaches.” It allowed us to collaborate, share, and compete at one of sailing’s most iconic venues, Newport, RI.
A huge thank you to the Gonzalez Family and Sail Newport for an excellent advanced clinic!

Thank you so much to the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for funding my recent trip to Newport, RI for the Brooke E. Gonzalez clinic. I had an amazing time, and I learned so much. Not only did we get to hear about the different perspectives and techniques the coaching staff had to offer, but we also had the chance to sail against some of the top boats of the c420 fleet.

Thank you so much for your generous grant to support the Mater Dei High School Sailing Team to travel to Cleveland, OH for the Mallory Fleet Racing Championships. This was the first time that Mater Dei has qualified for this event. The team consisting of Morgan Pinckeny, Reade Decker, Chase Decker, Maxwell Kleha, Sophia Mulvania, Vera Allen and Kenney Leehealey arrived on Thursday evening ready to practice at the Foundry venue on Friday; unfortunately we received late notice that no practice would be available on Friday.

We arrived to the 2021 Baker Team Racing High School National Championship prepared to train on Friday, but the conditions presented 18-20 knots. The host club decided that these conditions were too heavy and prevented the teams from training that day. This was a set back for MDHS as we were planning to train with our heavy air crew to prepare for the following day's forecast of 20 knots.

Thank you so much for your consideration and generosity to get myself and my crew Daniel Pegg across the country to Miami for the 2020 49er North Americans. The event itself was so amazing and the lessons we learned were unmatched to any other coaching we have received in the past four months. In addition to the sailing lessons we learned we were able to make so many amazing connections with the Olympic Team and the Olympic Development Team. These connections helped us to become part of the ODP team and be able to do other events and training camps in the future.
