Reade Decker at the Rose Cup
I participated in my first ever match racing event as part of the Petersen Team representing Balboa Yacht Club. This experience has established a new found interest and passion for Match Racing.
The Rose Cup combine two days of clinic training with three days of racing to provide a comprehensive match racing experience.
Dominated by talent from the West Coast, we fought our way through the semi-finals against our local competitor David Wood. Entering the finals we meet Jack Egan who was currently undefeated. We lost the first race to him, and then we turned on the heat to win the next three races.
I truly appreciate the opportunity that Skipper Jeffrey Petersen gave to me to manage bow and tactics on our boat during this event. It was a experience of a life time!
