In contrast to last year's severe wind and waves, the 2025 North Americans started as a light air regatta. Kingston Keyoung, my skipper, and I felt comfortable in these conditions since the wind is very similar in Southern California. However, the breeze eventually picked up, allowing crews to get on traps and racing to get more exciting. After the first two days of the regatta we qualified for the gold fleet, and on the last day we were able to race in our final fleets (gold and silver). I am so grateful to have been able to compete against some of the best sailors on the continent, and for this regatta to be supported by the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation!
