This past September, I competed at the U.S. Team Racing Championships in Larchmont, NY. This was my fourth time sailing with Los Huevos, a team that includes skippers Lachlain McGranahan, Justin Callahan, and Mitchell Callahan; and crews Libby Redmond, Sara Schumann, and myself. The connection we've formed as a team, as former college teammates and childhood friends, makes for a truly special team dynamic. The competition was tough, with talented teams from all over the country, but through consistent teamwork and communication, we were able to come out with the win for the third year in a row. It was an exciting and rewarding weekend that reminded me why I love team racing so much.
We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who made the event such a success. Larchmont Yacht Club provided an amazing venue and great racing conditions, and our host family, the Ferrarones, made us feel right at home. Thank you also to all of our parents, grandparents, and friends who traveled to support us throughout the weekend—it truly meant a lot. I’m especially thankful to the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for their continued support of my sailing. Representing NHYC at events like this is always an honor, and I look forward to more opportunities to compete and improve in the seasons ahead.
