Kingston Keyoung at the 2024 C420 Midwinters East
Thank you once again for your continued support of us at the C420 Midwinters this year. This year I had the opportunity to sail with Grace Hunt. We had a great time and worked hard to perform well at this regatta. We flew to Florida a few days prior to the regatta to practice at the venue, and got some great conditions that previewed the regatta. On the first day of the regatta, we had light conditions on the course, so we were postponed on land for a couple hours before heading out. After being light for some time, the wind shifted and picked up dramatically. We completed two races before ending the day. On the second day, there was a rain storm that passed by, so we were postponed on land once again. After being sent out after the race committee deemed racing to be safe, we completed two races, one in a lighter wind and one in huge pressure. We had solid two days, and heading into the final day in the Gold fleet, we felt confident. Unfortunately, in the middle of the first race, our jib halyard broke, so we were unable to complete any of the three races which negatively impacted our final result. Even though we were unable to finish as we expected, I still took a lot away and we are looking forward to the next regatta. Thank you so much for your continued support during my C420 journey!
