Jack Flores at the 2022 Bolle International Youth Match Race Regatta
I am hugely grateful for your support for the Bolle International Youth Match Race regatta! It was a wonderful experience to check off a bucket list sailing venue, Sydney Harbour, and compete with some of the best youth match race teams in the world. I did bow for my longtime friend Max Brennan, and we, along with Peter Sangmeister and fellow NHYC sailor Morgan Pinckney, had a blast sailing in the 5-25kts, ultra-shifty offshore conditions we saw almost all week. The fleet was as highly competitive, if not more so than the Governor’s Cup, and the races were mostly 1-mistake and done. I struggled being back on the bow after months of exclusively skippering in match race regattas. In the end, we didn’t get the result we were looking for coming 6th, but we learned a ton, and it was perhaps the most fun regatta experience I’ve had to date. Many thanks!
