Women’s NA:

In July I competed in C420 Women’s North Americans, held in Redwood City, San Francisco, and run by PYSF. Although I normally crew, I decided to compete in Women’s North Americans as a skipper, with my friend Fiona Barbeito, for the experience and to support women participation in the sport of sailing. This event had medium to heavy wind, and it was a super fun learning experience. Thank you so much to Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for your support.

Open NA:

In July, I also competed in Open North Americans, held in Redwood City, San Francisco, where I crewed for my usual skipper, Noah Stapleton. This event had a very strong breeze which resulted in massive waves. The conditions caused intense sailing, it was the most wind and waves I had ever sailed in. Open North Americans was also a great learning experience, and an extremely exciting regatta. Thank you Newport Harbor Sailing foundation for your generous support.

CJ Buckley:

At the end of July, I competed in the C420 CJ Buckley Team Race championship, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. This was my first CJ, and although we were postponed for half a day due to a rainstorm, this event was super fun and such a great experience. Our team, West Coast Best Coast, won the regatta after a very exciting semi final and final. The 2nd place team came into the final with an undefeated record, however in the final we were able to win three races in a row against them, clinching the regatta. Thank you Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for supporting my competition in this event.

Nationals:

In August I competed in C420 Nationals, held off of Long Beach Island, New Jersey, run by Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club. This regatta had a good variety of both light and breezy conditions, and it also had very nice, warm weather. There was a very large fleet of 129 boats. This event was extremely well run and was super fun to compete in. I am very grateful to Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for the support they have given me.
