Charles Welsh at the VX One Winter Series
The VX One winter series in Miami was a fantastic event, and we wanted to express our gratitude for your support of Scott and me. This marks our second winter series, and it was held at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club in Miami, Florida, with over 20 boats participating.
We began the week with practice on Thursday and assembled the boat on Friday. Saturday brought excellent racing conditions with a steady 8 to 12 knots of breeze from the south. Although we ended the day in 13th place, which didn’t fully reflect our performance, we learned valuable lessons from a couple of mistakes. In one race, we took the wrong side of the course, and in another, we were pinwheeled out on the wrong side of the mark.
Sadly day two of racing was cancelled due to insufficient breeze. So we were stuck in 13th. We are committed to addressing these issues and improving in future events.
