2025 ILCA Midwinters East Regatta
Thank you to the NHSF Committee for generously supporting my participation in the 2025 ILCA Midwinters East Regatta, held February 15–19 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The event was hosted by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and featured over 200 of the top ILCA sailors from around the world. As a major qualifier for the ILCA World Championships, ILCA Grand Prix, and World Sailing ranking points, this regatta drew an elite international fleet and delivered some of the most competitive racing I’ve experienced.
Over five intense days, we competed in consistently challenging wind conditions, with long courses and back-to-back races that tested every sailor’s physical endurance, tactical decision-making, and mental focus. Racing at this level provided me with invaluable exposure to high-pressure starts, fleet strategy, and advanced boat-handling techniques in a world-class field. I was able to push my skills further and take an important step forward in my sailing career, preparing me for ILCA Youth Worlds this Summer. I’m deeply appreciative of the NHSF’s commitment to fostering young talent and creating opportunities for aspiring sailors like me to grow and compete on the international stage.
